Crockett’s songwriting on Lonesome Drifter delves into themes of wandering, hardship, and introspection, painting with word narratives that will resonate with country music fans. The title track, “Lonesome Drifter,” has Crockett’s country-tinged voice singing of a solitary traveler navigating the challenges of life on the road. “Game I Can’t Win” reflects on the struggles against systemic obstacles, delivering poignant commentary on personal and societal battles. “Easy Money” is a light modern country ballad with a story reminiscent of the works of Charles Bukowski and Tom Waits, highlighting Crockett’s ability to craft relatable and immersive tales.
